What Is Kybella?

Kybella is synthetic (manufactured) form of deoxycholic acid, which is also a naturally occurring acid in our bodies.

Kybella can be administered via injection to a targeted area of fatty tissue, such as the fat beneath the chin (also known as the ‘submental region’). Kybella works by breaking down the fat molecules and fat cells in the targeted treatment area, which are then excreted naturally via the body’s waste system. Treatment can result in a reduction in the bulky appearance caused by localized fat deposits. Typically, two to three treatment sessions are recommended to achieve optimal results. However, this varies per patient, which is one of the reasons why a pretreatment consultation is required.

At your consultation, we will discuss Kybella in depth and I will perform an assessment to determine your eligibility for treatment (*not all patients are appropriate for this treatment - patient specific variables to be discussed at time of consultation*). The best part is that the results of this treatment are permanent!
